As the oldest certified professional pet stylist course in all of Canada and the only certified professional pet stylist program in Alberta (vocational training licensed under the Private Vocational Schools Act), we stand apart from other grooming programs thanks to the high standards our students are held to. Throughout our twelve week program, you will be working hands on with our certified trainers to perfect your pet styling abilities. You will be extensively trained in all aspects of basic pet grooming, hand scissoring techniques, creative grooming methods, introduction to advanced grooming techniques, and the business of being a groomer or operating your own grooming business. Each of our students graduates certified in pet emergency first aid as a part of this course. In addition, you will be instructed by the first certified master feline groomer in Canada on the basics of cat grooming. Throughout the twelve week program, you will be required to pass four written exams, perform four test dog grooms, create a personal business plan based on your personal goals in grooming, and pass an instructor evaluation based on your overall grooming abilities. By the time you complete the course, you will be expected to be able to groom three to four animals per day with excellent quality and have all of the skills needed to be a working professional pet stylist!
All of our graduates are required to spend at least (8) hours of their program donating their grooming services for the Edmonton Humane Society, grooming animals in need and seeing first hand how their new skill can be used to give back to their community. In addition, our graduates attend (10) hours of Pet First Aid Certification training, obtaining their Pet First Aid & CPR certificate, which is good for (3) years from the date of certification.
All of our students receive a Romani Clipper Vac in their tool kit and we focus on training all students to maximize their level of efficiency by utilizing the most modern grooming tools & technology.
